Wolverine Christian Service Camp Camp Director Job Description

Summary:

Reporting to Wolverine’s Board of Directors, this position will provide leadership to Wolverine. With Wolverine Christian Service Camp’s (WCSC) Vision, Mission, and Values, the Camp Director will effectively lead and manage the camping operation in a manner consistent with these priorities. The Camp Director will shape, promote and implement growth strategies through visionary, spiritual leadership, and will oversee all aspects of the camp ministry.

Authority:

By the authority delegated by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee the Camp Director has full discretionary power to execute and affect the by-laws, policies, and directives of the Board of Directors of WCSC. All authority delegated and accountability relating to staff and operations is considered to be the authority and accountability of the 19Camp Director.

Ministry Responsibilities:

Since Wolverine Christian Service Camp is a Christian ministry whose role is to work with and with-in the local church, and because those who donate to WCSC expect that we operate as a bible based Christian Ministry you must regularly attend a supporting Christian Church.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Planning, Development, and Evaluation of all Camp Programs
  2. Manage Finances
  3. Manage Property, Facilities and Operations
  4. Manage Human Resources
  5. Manage Marketing and Fundraising

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a desire to grow as a follower, and evidence of a growing relationship with God.
  • Church ministry experience Preferred
  • Christian camping experience
  • Possess a College degree in a related field or equivalent
  • Coachable
  • Decisive leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Well-developed team builder, problem solver and conflict manager
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft office [Word, Excel, Presentation, Outlook]; knowledge and experience with an accounting software package (Quickbooks) would be an asset.
  • Competent working knowledge of Social Media Sites to maintain camp accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat)
  • Demonstration of an innovative & entrepreneurial spirit would be an asset
  • Valid Drivers License
  • 25 years old or older

Other Duties as Assigned

The Camp Director may be required to perform other duties as prescribed by the WCSC Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Note: The Camp Director’s working week hours will vary based on the time of the year. The Camp Director will often work evenings and weekends to accommodate activities such as seasonal schedules, board meetings and representing the organization at public events.
